2004 Boat Show
Celebrating Peterborough Lift Lock 100th Anniversary

The Trip to Peterborough

The weekend of July 9, 10, 11, 2004, some 30 or more Association members and those from the Toronto ACBS travelled the Trent-Severn Waterway from Young's Point to Peterborough Marina for the Boat Show. The groups of antique and classic boats were the last two groups to "lock through" the Peterborough Lift Lock before it was closed for the special 100th Anniversary celebrations. Therefore those who participated were in the last lockages of the "last century."

The Boat Show

All day Saturday hundreds people roamed the docks at Little Lake Marina in Peterborough viewing the antique and classic vessels and talking to the owners.

The Boats

Among the more than 100 boats on display during the Boat Show were a great selection of all makes, some Canadian, others crafted in the United States, as well as a number of replicas - hard to tell sometimes from the real thing. The Oldest Vessel at the Show was "Gaga" pictured to the left, a 16 foot 1908 Peterborough Canoe Co. Rowing Skiff
