Harriet, and her late husband bought their Hutchinson in 1995 from Harriet’s Aunt - Mary Hewitt, who summers in the Thousand Islands. This particular wooden boat had been in 'dry dock' for 10 years (they had two others) and required tremendous refurbishing. It was stripped bare by Dick Johnson of Andress' Marina, an Andress descendant, in Rockport, Ontario and totally restored. Hutchison Boat Works was immediately across the St. Lawrence River, in Alexandria Bay, NY. The Chrysler engine was restored in Brockville, Ontario and all chrome was sent to Ottawa for, needless to say, rechroming. The upholstery remains the same, as 'done' by Harriet’s Uncle - Bob Hewitt. The boat was originally purchased from an American, living nearby, among the Thousand Islands. ‘Woody' has returned once to Rockport, Ontario, from Stony Lake, for further coats of varnish.
