1972 Greavette Sunflash IV

1972 Greavette Sunflash IV

The Sunflash IV is a soft riding luxury runabout designed to be the pinnacle of the thoroughly proven Sunflash series and ultimately serve as a foundation to the Montique. It features a 165 h.p. Mercruiser stern drive, wide beam with flared bow, deep vee bottom and a high freeboard for safe, comfortable, dry riding at any speed. List price new was $ 7,200.00

Ordered at the 1972 Toronto Boat Show for a sum of $ 6,885.00 by Mr. Frank Zerbe of Agincourt, Ontario #187127 was one of the last “all wood” boats produced in Gravenhurst by Greavette. She was launched near Stoney Lake, Muskoka in May of that same year as “MONI-LYNN”.

After short periods of limited use this Sunflash IV was sold in 1986 to Mr. Bob Brown of Ahemic Lake Ontario, who refurbished much of her freeboard and decking. She was re-launched her in July of 1987 as “Orion.”

After 20 more years of faithful service this classic Greavette was purchased in the fall of 2008 by her 3rd and current custodians, Sean & Cindy Conroy of Newmarket, Ontario. Once again refurbished, refit and scheduled for re-launch in 2011, “Sea – J” will continue to run on the waterways of Ontario.
