Winner of "Captain's Choice"
2004 Trent-Severn Boat Show!

Built in 1954, the 75th anniversary of the Peterborough Canoe company, this boat spent its life, up until 1999, in the care of the Manson family of Toronto and McLean Lake, Ontario. Originally equipped with a 1955, 25hp Johnson, it has been given a little extra power with the installation of twin 35hp Johnson Javelins.

The boat was so well cared for by the Mansons that very little actual woodwork was needed to restore the boat. It is all original except for additional knees and pads on the transom to accept the twin outboard installation. Even the interior varnish and canvas on the hardtop are original, just "freshened". The deck and hull were taken to wood and refinished and new decals applied.

Restored by the owner, who would like to thank Dwight Boyd, of Clarion Boats for his assistance and his patience, and Peter McDowell for the outstanding job on the outboards, tanks and accessories. Also thanks to Patrick Wren for scrounging the right accesories and to the Manson family for preserving this beautiful product of the Peterborough Canoe Company, and for allowing it to be passed on to be enjoyed on the water again.
