This boat spent her first 30 years on Chandos Lake. She was restored by the Smiths and Ron Squires in 1987. It is in constant use at its home on Clear Lake to this day!

BOAT # 2

Dash 30" - a 1939 - 16' Peterborough Ambassador

This boat spent most of its life on Lake Joseph in Muskoka before being restored
by the Smiths over a 2 year period 2000/2001. The engine was manufactured
in Peterborough and was unused for 48 years before being restored during the
summer of 2001. It is a 1953 Johnson complete with electric start.

Boat # 3:

"Foxy" -   a 1953 - 13'6" Lakefield Seminole

This Lakefield “cedar strip” was found in a barn near Apsley in the summer of 2003. It hadn’t been in the water for years….perhaps several decades. At one time it had been owned by a cottager on Stony Lake. Years ago several gallons of linseed oil had been dumped in the boat. That oil somehow protected most of the bottom from rotting. (It took weeks to remove it!!)
A new front stem was needed along with 20 oak ribs, a dozen cedar planks, two splash rails, two folding floor mats and two seat backs. Aside from that, most of what you see is original.
“ Foxy” can often be seen dashing around Clear/Stony Lake in the company of an ever growing number of “cedar strips” that are making a comeback on the Kawartha Lakes.
