(owned by Bryan and Kathy Rhodes)
Purchased in 1994, Grace was a bleached out hull with several planks
missing,
and dry rot in many of those remaining. After having, the boat re-planked,
Bryan set out to restore it. Six years and many long hours of labour
and untold frustration later, Grace was entered in the 2000 Antique and
Classic
Boat Show in Gravenhurst. Unfortunately, ongoing problems with the engine
and
water pump meant that she had to be towed from the dock. Although most
of
the engine problems have since been resolved, Bryan and Kathy always
travel
with extra impellors and have to prime the engine before it will start.
Bryan
completed the restoration and most of the engine rebuild on his own.
The
interior upholstery and suntop were completed by Dan & Pam Truax
in Dunsford.
“
Grace” winters in Pickering and summers in Victoria Place, just
outside of
Bobcaygeon. She can frequently be seen on the waters of Pigeon and Buckhorn
Lakes with occasional forays as far as Fenlon Falls and Young’s
Point.
At
Trent-Severn Club's Rendezvous 2003 on Stony Lk.
