1958 Peterborough Lakeside - 15 1/2 ft. with optional centre steering. This boat was originally used on Pigeon Lake with an 18 HP Evinrude. The boat is very solid, but needs some ribs, outer keel and splash rails. It appears to have been varnished only once, and never taken to bare wood. Restoration this winter at John Hendren's, including a West System bottom, and hoping to be ready for the Lift Lock Anniversary in July of 2004. Power will be a 1955 - 25 HP Johnson - One of 4 - Factory built "Racing Motors" with outside remote exhaust outlets in very original condition. The restoration begins: The
first task was stripping the boat and replacing rotting ribs All but 12 ribs in the bow were replaced (steamed and
bent) - using white oak The transom was removed,
stripped and put back in place The boat was entirely stripped and a new stem was constructed Starting to re-construct the interior: Combing
installed Getting closer! - bottom painted - May 17th .....Proudly on display at the Trent-Severn Boat Club's 2004 Show - July 9/10/11!
