"Florence" An 18'6", 1919 Disappearing Propeller Motor Boat ("a Dippy"), Uncle Sam model. Built in Port Carling, Ontario. Powered by a 1919, 2.5 HP 1 cyl Kingfisher copper jacket engine. The Dippy was bought in 1985, a cold October day, and made it in the water a 'few' years later - September, 2002 in time for the Dippy Regatta at Sparrow Lake. She is still not 100% finished; not sure it will ever be done! It did win Best Dispro at the Sept 2003 ACBS boat show. Don't tell anyone, but there were only three dippys there and one got best Canadian Boat. Still a milestone for Florence! (webmaster's note: I think she looks great!)
"Another Woodie" A 14' 1956 Peterborough Comet. Built in Peterborough,
Ontario. "Katie" This is Wilma's Fibre-Glassic... a 15' 1960 Glastron
Fireflite. Powered by a 1961, 75hp - 4 cyl Johnson.The Glastron was purchased
the fall of 2001. Wilma spotted her prize in a driveway in Smith Falls
with a for sale sign on it. She dropped in to have a look and was hooked.
A bit of negotiation and we towed it home.
It was a bit of a job to find the 1960 75HP OMC outboard. (We ended up
driving to Connecticut to pick the engine.) We had hoped to have it
in
